Buildertrend

Construction management software for home builders, remodelers and specialty contractors.

01

Overview

Buildertrend is a cloud construction management platform for residential home builders, remodelers and specialty contractors that brings sales, project management, client communication and financials into one system.

Best for: Residential builders and remodelers running five or more projects a year.

What Buildertrend does

Buildertrend covers a residential job from first lead to final invoice. Sales tools handle leads, estimates and proposals; project tools handle scheduling, daily logs, selections, change orders and to-dos; and a client portal keeps homeowners updated. Financial features include budgets, job costing, purchase orders and bills, with integrations for QuickBooks, Xero and Sage Intacct.

In 2026 the company has leaned into AI. After acquiring BizJet AI in July, it launched AI Submittals, AI Bill Capture, AI Client Updates and AI Plans in September, along with AIA-style progress invoicing for bank-funded projects, a Bluebeam integration and a new field-focused mobile app.

Founded in 2006 and based in Omaha, Nebraska, Buildertrend is backed by Bain Capital Tech Opportunities and HGGC and says more than 20,000 builders use the platform. Pricing is quoted per business rather than published; plans include unlimited users and projects. There is no free trial, but the company offers demos and daily virtual training.
